WHETHER YOU’RE A NEWER WRITER or a pro, a writing coach—your writing Sherpa?—makes the journey easier and a lot more fun! Job one? We’ll construct a solid plan. Then, step by step—and with the support you need—you’ll get your next page/chapter/draft done!
How we work
We might agree that developing an outline for your book is our first step. And if you already have an outline? We’ll launch a draft! Either way, our work together will be unique—because you’re unique! However, it will generally look something like this:
- Every week or two, you’ll send me what you’re working on—a chapter or two, perhaps, or your outline-in-progress.
- We’ll meet by phone or video to dive into the material you’ve shared. (Our calls will be deep—and really exciting, too!)
- At the end of our call, we’ll plan your next best steps—always moving your book forward toward your publishing goals.
Choose from the following options.
10-SESSION BOOK-WRITER’S PLAN
All writers—whether they’re new to the craft or long-time pros—benefit from a special kind of support: Patience, humor, an open mind, and a steady hand help book-writers and their projects set their roots and get growing.
Offering all this, as well as accountability and encouragement, your Book-Writer’s Plan comprises ten sessions of collaborative support. I’ll review portions of your work regularly—and then we’ll meet by phone or video to discuss how to continue to move your work forward toward your goal.
The reliable care and feeding provided by this plan is like Miracle-Gro for your budding project. Expect to see significant, healthy growth from session to session.
$2495: Your Book-Writer’s Plan includes my regular review of your work in progress + ten in-depth phone or video meetings + office hours access + next steps consultation.
3-SESSION ROCKET-BOOSTER PLAN
Ready for take-off? In just three sessions, this plan offers a rocket-booster’s worth of direction, confidence, technique, and ideas. Kick off a new project, jump-start a stalled project, revise a short story or two, or map out your book’s sturdiest structure. Achieve lift-off!
$995: Your Rocket-Booster Plan includes my regular review of your work in progress + three in-depth phone or video meetings + office-hours access + next-steps consultation.
FIRST 50-PAGE REVIEW
Your first fifty pages can make or break an agent’s (or reader’s) interest. And if you’re still in-progress with your book? Those same fifty pages can tell your coach what techniques and approaches will have the most impact as you work toward the best version of your story. These might include issues regarding
- style and tone,
- plot and pacing,
- structure and arc,
- audience and genre,
- character and point of view.
$595: First fifty-page review (average 250 words per page)
Our in-depth review will be a collaborative experience. Expect a robust discussion that leads to impactful insights! From these, you can create a road map to either a powerful complete first draft or a significantly improved revision. To get the most from our valuable conversation, you’ll want to take detailed notes. (Please inform me if you plan to record.)
